Texas Made a History after Ike
On Sunday, September 14, 2008, Texas made a new history for it’s biggest rescue effort after Hurricane Ike. As the search team looked through the flooded houses and destructions caused by the storm, nearly 2,000 people reported have been rescued. At least 21 deaths were found in the City of Galveston and some outside of Texas. Not only that, it caused the electricity in the city went off, no gas, and some serious damages that is predicted might last for a month or more.
It’s said to be the biggest rescue effort in Texas history since it used massive groups of people, including more than 50 helicopters, to rescue the victims. President Bush has planned his visit to the places hit by the hurricane. He also planned to give supports to rebuild again things destroyed and people hurt from the hit.
Another impact from hurricane Ike is that it might affect oil prices again. Before it hit the city of Galveston, it has hit first and left damages for some offshore oil production facilities that might cause the oil prices to go up again for the next several weeks.
There are more discoveries, either good or bad news, coming about the destructions of the hurricane. I would like to invite all of us through this website to pray or to express your sympathy to our friends and relatives who might have gotten affected by the hurricane.
